The boss of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot has confirmed that the studio is on track to launch the third instalment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. The game should hit stores on October 30.
Assassin’s Creed III has been described by Guillemot himself as “the biggest launch in Ubisoft history. The game is being developed for use on the Xbox 360, PC, Wii U and PS3 platforms. Yes, anyone who has opted to play partypoker or Angry Birds in your spare time, because you’ve already completed Assassin’s Creed 1 and 2 several times over, will be please to know the wait is almost over.
Speaking for investors, Yves Guillemot said: “We will push the title a lot because it’s a fantastic product that the team has been working for three years…What we have seen is just fabulous,” he said.
We do not have any information regarding the plot as of yet. He remained tight lipped on the subject. However one of the popular theories is that the game will be set in the US during the American Revolution. It would make sense because, carried within Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood were coordinates to New York. Plus a recent Ubisoft fan survey mentioned the revolution.
Fans are also speculating about whether the new chapter will feature a multi-player feature. If this is the case, it could destroy the Assassin’s Creed: Revelation’s online community before it has had a chance to stretch its legs.
The announcement of the release date comes a week after a supposed ‘leak’ of Ubisoft’s release schedule. It stated that Assassin’s Creed 3 would be released this year alongside Splinter Cell: Retribution. With the release of Assassin’s being accurately reported, was it also right about Splinter?
