The success enjoyed by Avatar at the end of 2009 has generated a new industry: the entertainment media in 3D. First by many 3D movies, 3D games and more recently, trying to translate the player in an environment as close to real.

Even if  only two years have past after explosion 3D world, 3D gaming industry has grown fast and now can be proud of including famous titles available on a wide variety of platforms: we have 3D games and 3D games for PC the console.

3D games for PC

3D PC games started in 1982 with Sub-Roc 3D, but have known true explosion in 2010, when major manufacturers have decided to launch games 3D versions of popular games.

How to use 3D games for PC

You should know that to play a 3D game on your computer you do not need necessarily a 3D monitor, but the technologies provided by the manufacturers of video cards Nvidia and AMD.

Nvidia 3D Vision - NVIDIA technology produced images that you can see stereoscopic 3D with a pair of Nvidia 3D Vision glasses and a 120 Hz monitor. Since those glasses cost around 200 dollars , up option is to use a simple pair of 3D glasses with one red and one blue lens (similar to those you get when you go to a 3D movie) and a video card Nvidia.

HD3D AMD - AMD developed technology that can only convert classic games in 3D through a software. Compatible with several video cards AMD technology can be used including classic monitors. A full user guide find AMD site.
Game available in 3D for PC

Call of Duty: Black Ops - probably the first known game that appeared in 3D for the PC.We are talking about one of the best FPS, which includes the skin of several characters who must carry out the missions with comrades. A game very training that will give you a few moments of respite.
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations - The game is one adventure during the Roman Empire, most of the action taking place in Constantinople, with short visits in the Greek island of Rhodes.
Crysis 2 - An FPS where the action takes place in the urban jungle of New York and that gives you great freedom of customization of weapons and skills.

With AMD HD3D you can convert many other games, including Left 4 Dead 2, Mass Effect 2, Resident Evil 5, Far Cry 2, Mirror’s Edge and the World of Warcraft.

3D Games for Console

 
Besides the versions for PC, there are 3D games on your TV through a common console.By far, most 3D games are available for the PlayStation 3. If you have such a console, you need to upgrade firmware, use an HDMI 1.4 (the only version compatible with 3D) and, of course, have a pair of 3D glasses.

Here are a few 3D games available for PlayStation 3:

Batman: Arkham City - Game of open-world action in entering the Batan character and meets a series of missions through the town of Arkham City.
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations - version of the console to play on PC, Assassin’s Creed:Revelations is an adventure during the Roman Empire, most of the action taking place in Constantinople, with short visits the Greek island of Rhodes.
Killzone 3 - Another FPS, this time exclusively on the PS 3, you will know the Arctic, jungles  or areas devastated by nuclear explosions in 3D.
Resistance 3 - One of the newest FPS launched, Resistance 3 challenges you to try a range of new weapons, but also to remember the weapons used in previous gamesseries.
Gran Turismo 5 - famous racing game developed by Polyphony Digital exclusively for PS3 can now be played in 3D. You get a spectacular experience the famous racing circuits at the wheel of the latest generation cars and prototypes.

Also last year appeared a few 3D games for the Xbox 360 console from Microsoft.Generally it’s titles available in parallel in 3D for the PlayStation 3, Batman Arkham Asylum: Game Of The Year: 3D Edition, Thor: God of Thunder, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations orCrysis 2, and titles exclusive Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.
